Star Bottle brings street art into space with the launch of a virtual museum in the Universe: a jury of experts will select seven works by street artists to be sent into Deep Space as a multimedia message on 10 August.

Following the success of the presentation at the Senate of the Republic on 12 April and the award in the “New Frontier of Communication” category at the Interactive Key Award 2024, Star Bottle, the project that, for the first time in the world, makes communication towards Deep Space «democratic» by offering everyone the possibility of sending multimedia messages into space, launches a new and exciting initiative that aims to bring Street Art into the Universe.

Ahead of the first space launch to the Milky Way with the Stars Night event on 10 August 2024, Star Bottle offers Italian street art artists the unique opportunity to send their work into deep space free of charge in the form of a multimedia message (text, image, audio or video). Whether a graffito, a mural, an installation or a performance, this project allows street artists to send beauty and urban creativity beyond the borders of our planet, thus leaving an indelible mark on the Universe.

For this great occasion, on 17 June, at Via Prina 2 in Milan, Outdoora unveiled a mural, created by artist Vincenzo Magno, aka ViM, dedicated precisely to Star Bottle and the Stars Night event.

“This is an innovative project that takes street art, and therefore an important part of our culture, into space - the words of Domenico Zambarelli, publisher of Star Bottle -. Each street art artist, with his or her work, will be able to reach unexplored places in the Universe to leave something beautiful and unique for the benefit of future generations, who may find the content in decades, centuries or millennia or, why not, inhabitants of other planets. Star Bottle will transform the 7 works - selected from all those we receive in text, image, audio or video format - by converting them into binary code with a 9.95 KHz emission, and the 11-metre dish at the Fucino space centre will transmit them towards the Milky Way on 10 August next on the 2115 MHz frequency, thus creating a sort of virtual multimedia museum that can inspire new ideas and generate dialogue by making space accessible and connected to the human experience.

Street art artists who wish to participate in the initiative are invited to send their work in text, image, audio or video format to press@starbottle.space by 15 July 2024.

A jury of three experts will view all the entries received and select the seven that will be sent to the Universe for free during the Stars Night event on 10 August.
