The discovery, destined to revolutionise theories on the origin of life, was made possible thanks to the powerful radiointerferometer <strong>ALMA<\/strong> (Atacama Large Millimeter\/submillimeter Array), located in Chile and operated by the\u2019<strong>European Southern Observatory (ESO)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The research, led by <strong>Abubakar Fadu<\/strong> of the prestigious <strong>Max Planck Institute for Astronomy<\/strong> in Germany and published in <em>The Astrophysical Journal Letters<\/em>, reinforces the hypothesis that <strong>the fundamental building blocks of life can form directly in interstellar space<\/strong>. According to the authors, these molecules could be <strong>most common and widespread<\/strong> than previously thought.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the <strong>17 molecules discovered<\/strong> The disc of gas and dust around V883 Orionis includes substances never before detected in this type of environment, such as <strong>ethylene glycol<\/strong> e <strong>glycolinitrile<\/strong>, both considered crucial for the development of more complex biological molecules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This result represents a key piece in understanding the evolution of organic molecules from the <strong>birth of stars<\/strong> until the <strong>formation of planets<\/strong>. The researchers observed that <strong>chemical complexity increases progressively<\/strong>from simple molecules (such as the <strong>methanol<\/strong>) in the dense clouds of gas preceding stellar birth, up to <strong>sugars, amino acids and nitrogenous bases<\/strong> (key elements of <strong>DNA and RNA<\/strong>) found today on <strong>comets, meteorites and asteroids<\/strong> of our <strong>Solar System<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This discovery opens up new avenues in the search for <strong>origins of life<\/strong> and suggests that its key ingredients might be <strong>scattered throughout the galaxy<\/strong>, ready to start new biological chapters on distant planets.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Un team internazionale di astronomi ha individuato tracce di molecole organiche complesse, ritenute precursori di zuccheri e amminoacidi, nel disco protoplanetario che circonda la giovane stella V883 Orionis.
